Vignobles Boissonneau -- Château de la Vieille Tour Bordeaux Blanc
100% Estate. 100% Family Property. 100% Organic.
Gotta love a winery website that states their history began in 1150, upon the planting of the first vine in this village! The then Queen of England, Eléonore de Provence (although pretty sure it’s a typo and they mean Eleanor of Aquitaine, because the aforementioned Eléonore wasn’t even born by 1150!, ordered monks to plan vines here. The rest is history as they say! In all seriousness, the Boissonneau family began their life and vineyards here in 1839, with their first family bottling in 1970, and conversion (back) to Organic in 2008. An historic property, lovingly tended to and ushered into the 21st century by the Boissonneau Family, with a constant awareness of where they came from, and where they’re going.
