I’m Alexa, and I founded Mineralista because my time in the wine industry revealed the thin space between commercial wine and natural wine – wines made in a thoughtful, responsible, traditional, and sustainable way, but that still taste clean and familiar to the person just entering this beyond-retail world of wine.
But these wines were not all being featured in one easy place. The grocery store still relied on the same tired labels owned by a small number of large public companies focused on scale and market share, and natural bottle shops were often too esoteric for the average consumer (hell, even I would occasionally buy a bottle that went way over my head).
So many of us want to do better – for ourselves, our families, our communities, our planet. But life is hard, it moves fast, and ease and convenience often supersede what we actually want.
I take the guesswork out of what to drink when you have a conscience. I taste thousands of wines each year and only a few dozen make it into the wine club.
Wines that are exactly right for each season, which enhance the food we love to cook and eat, and the activities which bring us joy. Wines that encourage us to live in the moment and enjoy the simple pleasures in life (because truly that’s all there is).
I’d sold wine chosen by other people for too long, and it’s been my greatest joy for the past 5 years to refine my selection here at Mineralista into the best cross-section of the world of wine I can find, and to share it with you.

WINE WITH A SENSE OF PLACE
Most wine drinkers think they’re supporting farmers and tasting unique wines, but much of the wine sold in grocery stores comes from just a few massive companies. We think we’re buying diversity, but increasingly we’re buying standardization.
Wine used to be a reflection of place, season, and people. Increasingly, it’s becoming a standardized consumer product designed for consistency (and profit) above all else.
Mineralista exists to reconnect people to what wine used to be. We look for independent winemakers who bring something genuine to the glass — wines made with respect for the land, the traditions of the region, and the people drinking them. Whether that means sustainable farming, preserving a rare indigenous grape variety, or generations of family craft, these are real wines made by real people, not products engineered to taste the same year after year.
