This is a special project prompted by the importer; Nicolau de Almeida is one of the top producers in Portugal, but this label is a unique project for Mateus & his wife Teresa. Behold, a field blend from across all of their vineyards, to create ‘the perfect red’ both in easy-going flavor and price-point.
Grape: Tinto Roriz, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Malvasia Fina
Region: Baixo Corgo, Douro, Portugal
Farming: Organic, Biodynamic
Winery: 10 days maceration with occasional pump-overs, spontaneously fermented with wild yeast in stainless, zero additives, minimal sulfites added at bottling
