itä wines -- Sémillon 2 of 2

I am giddy with excitement at this project, a refreshing change from your typical Washington State wines. itä wines are lighter bodied wines with racy acidity, and founder/winemaker Kelsey Albro Itämeri’s low-impact winemaking styles reflects that via early pick dates, a restrained use of oak, and minimal fining/filtration in the winery. I’ve never tasted anything like it from Washington State and I am thrilled to think that we might begin to see more diversity in our incredible home state. This Sémillon is, as the name suggests, one of a pair of Sémillons she created to show the range of style for this respected but seldom planted grape. 2 of 2 is fermented and aged in neutral French oak with periodic lees stirring, yielding a fuller, richer, more complex result.
