Giordano Lombardo -- ‘Vigne di San Martino’

Giordano Lombardo is the rare Biodynamic producer in Gavi, a small region in Piedmont, in North Eastern Italy. They also run a restaurant at the winery at which they use fresh ingredients that have been grown alongside the vines. Always family owned and run. 

This wine reminds me of fresh apple cider with a dash of juicy lemon. Really delightful, and playful.

Grape: Cortese 100%

Farming: Organic, Biodynamic (Demeter), volcanic marl & limestone soil, hand harvested, 320m elevation

Winery: Whole cluster press with short maceration on skins, aged on lees for 5 months in stainless, 3 months in bottle
