With a history beginning in 1968, and the first underground bottle maturation cellar of its kind in the southern hemisphere, founder Dr. Anton Rupert distinguished the winery as an important innovator in the wine industry, and played a pivotal role in the planting of classic noble grape varieties in the 1970s.

Sourced from prized South and East facing steep trellised vineyards in Stellenbosch, Somerset West, and Robertson, with cool breezes that blow off the Atlantic.
