While records of vineyards on this site date back to 1635, the modern iteration of “la Foliette” begins in 1926 when Joseph Brosseau moved to “la Foliette” to tend the vines. In 1996, two good friends Denis Brosseau & Eric Vincent take over at Domaine de la Foliette, bringing their expertise and knowledge of previous generations together. Today the estate covers 40 hectares in 3 towns: la Hay-Fouassière, Haute-Gouilaine, and Vertou. The domaine is Terra Vitis Certified Sustainable, whose members advocate for sustainable viticulture in France, and use eco-friendly techniques to avoid any negative impact on the environment.
