Domaine Jean Aubron -- Sauvingnon Blanc ‘Vieille Vignes’

While this land has been a working vineyard for much longer, the current owners’ ancestors bought this vineyard and surrounding buildings in 1843. While their main focus is of course Muscadet (Melon de Bourgogne), they also produce a small amount of Sauvignon Blanc, and thank goodness they do because this is the kind of wine that really gets me going — affordable, small production, natural, varietally correct, and so, so crushable.

Farming: Sustainable, hand harvested, 40+ year old vines, volcanic Gabbro soil

Winery: Fermentation and aging in stainless, unfined, minimal filtration, low SO2
