Château Roquegrave, located in Valeyrac on Bordeaux’s Médoc peninsula, has been owned by the Joannon and Lleu families since 1965. The estate’s 30 hectares of vineyards are planted with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot on sandy gravel and clay-gravel soils that give the wines their Médoc character. Pierre-Yves Joannon, who holds a degree in viticulture and oenology from Bordeaux’s ENITA, has managed the estate since 2016, guiding production with a focus on quality and terroir expression. Recognized as a Cru Bourgeois since 1932, Château Roquegrave balances tradition with careful vineyard management.
