This is a seriously fantastic deal, and it’s all thanks for France’s strict, and sometimes irrational, wine laws. Château Pierbone is the 2nd wine from the esteemed Château Peyrabon, a winery located in one of Bordeaux’s most prized regions: Pauillac. But since they own vineyards in both Pauillac *and* the Haut-Médoc at large, their request to label with the prestigious word ‘Pauillac’ was denied. This translates to what they are able to charge per bottle, and we end up the winners. We don’t often talk about this caliber of wine here at Mineralista as we love to focus on the approachability of our favorite beverage, but when in Rome right...?!

The winery boasts a majestic Renaissance style castle that can be traced back to the 1700s. Immaculately manicured vineyards encircle the property. Classic Bordeaux, given away for a song.

Grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon 67%, Merlot 27%, Cabernet Franc 4%, Petit Verdot 2% (a true BDX blend!)

Region: Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux, France
