Château Grange Cochard, established in 1759, sits in the heart of Morgon, one of Beaujolais’ most celebrated crus, where granite and schist soils shape each vintage. The estate’s Gamay vines, some more than a century old, anchor centuries of winemaking tradition. In 2008, James and Sarah Wilding, a British couple drawn to Beaujolais, took on the challenge of restoring the château and its vineyards, breathing new life into the property. A decade later, Jean-Philippe Manches assumed stewardship, guiding the wines toward a refined, balanced style while maintaining a respect for the land and its history. Today, the organically certified vineyards yield wines that are lively, structured, and unmistakably Morgon — a bridge between the region’s heritage and a modern expression of Gamay.
