Cerminara is a sibling-run winery founded on family roots and a clear mission: to honor Cirò’s deep winemaking legacy through thoughtful, low-intervention wines. They focus on Gaglioppo, the ancient indigenous grape that was long neglected and nearly forgotten. Cirò, a historic wine region in Calabria along the rugged Ionian coast of southern Italy, boasts a dry, sun-drenched Mediterranean climate tempered by sea breezes and foothill elevation – ideal for slow, balanced ripening. Though their first release came in 2020, their journey began years earlier, when the three brothers left behind other industries to return to the vines planted by their grandfather 60 years ago. Today, they’re part of the Cirò Revolution – a growing movement of local winemakers committed to restoring the region’s reputation by farming organically, working with native grapes, and letting the land speak through the wine.
