Bodegas Ponce -- Clos Lojen Bobal
Bodegas Ponce -- Clos Lojen Bobal
His ethos is to let the wine make itself.
Bobal is an ancient and in today’s modern world, totally overlooked grape varietal. Thanks to a small group of people like Juan Antonio Ponce, the Bobal grape still thrives in this small Spanish region. He started his winery in 2005 and was Biodynamic from the jump. He feels that such an approach is the best way to pay respect to the Bobal grape; to fully allow it to express its natural terroir. In addition to being a protector of the Bobal grape, he is also a leading figure in natural winemaking in his region.
