David Hill Winery -- Farmhouse Red
David Hill Winery -- Farmhouse Red
The Farmhouse Red from the prestigious and historic David Hill Winery is something of an enigma. Each year they maintain Farmhouse’s consistency and affordability for everyday consumption. A seemingly random choice of varietals from selected vineyards across the PNW are brought back to the same winemaker as their high-end white and reds.
As with all of David Hill wines, you have a little bit of history in your glass. Back in the 1960s when air travel meant sipping a martini with your feet up, apparently you could also manage to smuggle Alsatian vine clippings in your luggage. Lucky for us, cool-climate viticultural specialist Charles Coury had the gall to do just that, and we thank him with each sip 60 years later.
